Prague - 26 May

Another early breakfast and then off to Nuremberg.
This city was badly bombed in the second world war. Most of the buildings had to be rebuilt. This was  helped by the fact that Hitler knew that the cities would be destroyed and had all of the buildings drawn and photographed so they could be rebuilt the way they were once he had won the war.

There is a no smoking policy in restaurants throughout Europe. Hitler banned smoking in restaurants during the war, Germans resent him so much that smoking in restaurants is permitted in Germany.
Hitler also insisted on mandatory uniforms, as a result no-one can be made to wear a uniform in Germany.

We were warned not to do goose steps or salutes, or it would be instant imprisonment.

Nuremburg is the Second largest city in Bavaria, where the BMW comes from.

After an enjoyable couple of hours wandering around Nuremberg we headed off for Prague in the Czech republic where the beer is only two euro's a litre, about four dollars.

Arrived at our hotel in Prague, it is huge. Two tower blocks, 642 rooms, 2 restaurants and a swimming pool.
Dropped off the bags and headed out to the town for tea.
The restaurant is quite big and uses a model train to deliver the drinks to the table. Steven loved playing with the train, nearly burnt one out.

We walked out of the restaurant straight into the middle of the riot police trying to control 2 opposing sets of football fans after their grand final. Sensible people would get out of the way. Fools would stand in the middle of it taking photographs.

Avoided the lock up and made it back to our hotel, admittedly with a police escort.
