Day 1 - 18th May
Left Devonport at 11.30 am
Tyson, Hunter and Eleyna came to the airport to see us off.
One hour later we are in Melbourne and having a beer.
We will be flying Royal Brunei Airways, no beer.
No problems at the check out or customs.
The
first seven hours of flying to Brunei was pretty good, lots of leg
room, more than we've become accustomed to over the past few years. good
food. Good service.
Steven spent all seven hours watching all 8 or 9 episodes of the latest Dr Who.
Tammy read a book.
Here's a photo of some clouds.
We touched down in Brunei for a couple of hours and not a bar in sight.
Then off we went on the fourteen hour flight to Heathrow.
That's a long time in a chair. Not something we do practically every day of the week.
Calming
lights and music on landings to calm the fears of those of us who
secretly know that the plane is about to roll end for end down the
runway in a fiery ball of death and destruction.
Eventually we arrived at Heathrow at 6.24 am on Saturday (3.24 pm Sunday in Australia)
Caught a couple of trains to our Hotel and so started day two.
